Which iOS versions are supported?
iOS 26 and later. Apple Watch and widgets included.
Does CheqMate connect to my bank?
No. CheqMate is privacy-first. You can plan and track without linking accounts.
How do I add my first paycheck?
Open CheqMate and add a pay schedule: choose your frequency (weekly, biweekly, semimonthly, monthly), set the anchor date (next or last payday), then save. Your upcoming pay periods appear in Plan.
How do I add a bill?
Go to Bills and tap “+”. Enter the name, amount, due date (or recurrence), and optional category. Bills automatically map into the correct pay period in Plan.
How do I mark a bill as paid?
From Plan or Bills, tap the bill’s paid toggle. Totals update instantly; tap again to undo.
What is “Free-to-spend” and how is it calculated?
It’s the money left in a period after planned income, bills, and any holds. It updates live as you mark bills paid or change your plan.
Can I carry remaining funds to the next paycheck?
Yes. In Settings, enable Carry Over Remaining. You can disable it anytime if you prefer each period to start fresh.
How do I manage notifications?
Open Settings ▸ Notifications to allow alerts. Baseline bill reminders are local and privacy-friendly. (Pro adds advanced limits and quiet hours.)
How do I add widgets or use Apple Watch?
On iPhone, long-press the Home Screen ▸ “+” ▸ search “CheqMate”. On Apple Watch, install the companion app and add the complication from the watch face edit screen.
How do I back up or restore my data?
Settings ▸ Backup & Restore. You can export a JSON snapshot and import it later. Data stays under your control.
How do I refresh widgets if data looks stale?
Settings ▸ Refresh Widgets Now. This forces a data write & timeline reload.
How do I get CheqMate Pro?
In-app purchase from Settings. Pro unlocks: Debt Calculator, multi-period Insights, alternate icons, typography overrides, extra accent colors, encrypted backups, advanced notification limits, quiet hours, and multiple income sources.
How do I change the app icon or typography?
After unlocking Pro, go to Settings ▸ Appearance to choose alternate icons and adjust typography.
